According to the Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance, "Southern independent booksellers have selected the finalists for the 2020 Southern Book Prize, representing bookseller favorites from 2019 that are...either about the South or written by a Southern writer." The sixteen finalists that received the most nominations are a collection of the year's most beloved 'hand sells' in fiction, nonfiction and children’s literature.

K-Pop Star Jessica Jung Has Written a Young Adult Novel, And It’s Already In Development For Film

Entertainment Weekly announced today that Jessica Jung, a former member of the K-pop group Girl's Generation, will publish her debut novel, SHINE, in the fall of 2020. SHINE is part of a two-book deal with Simon Pulse about a Korean-American teenager in training to become the next major K-pop star.
