Simon Lewis

Simon Lewis was born in Wales. He studied Art at Goldmiths College in London, then worked as a travel writer. He researched the Rough Guides to China, Beijing, and Shanghai as well as writing for newspapers and magazines. Simon Lewis’s first novel Go (1999), about backpackers, was written in a village in the Himalayas. It has been translated into German, Italian, Turkish and Swedish. His second novel, Bad Traffic (2008), is a crime thriller about people smugglers. It has been published in the UK and the US and translated into German, French, Swedish, Italian, Japanese and Turkish. It was nominated for the LA Times Book of the Year and the French SNCF prize for crime fiction. As a screen writer, he has worked for Potboiler Films, Cloud 8 and Channel 4. He spends half his time in Brixton, London, and the rest in China and Japan. Simon Lewis’s next novel Border Run will be published in April 2012, in the US and the UK.
