Martin MacInnes

My latest novel, In Ascension (‘Nobody else writes like MacInnes, and this magnificent book is his best yet’) was published in February 2023. It was longlisted for the Booker Prize and won best novel at the Saltire Awards and Blackwell’s book of the year. In Ascension is available or forthcoming in ten languages, has been optioned for film, and is published by Grove Atlantic in the US in February 2024.

My debut novel, Infinite Ground (‘jaw-dropping’ – The Times), won the Somerset Maugham Award and was shortlisted for the Saltire Awards.

My second novel, Gathering Evidence (‘beautiful’ – Guardian), led to my inclusion in the National Centre for Writing / British Council’s list of ten writers shaping the UK’s future.
