Julia Flynn Siler

Julia Flynn Siler is an author and journalist. She is the author of The White Devil’s Daughters: The Women Who Fought Slavery in San Francisco’s Chinatown (Knopf, May 2019.) Her first two books, The House of Mondavi: The Rise and Fall of an American Wine Dynasty (Gotham, 2007) and Lost Kingdom: Hawaii’s Last Queen, the Sugar Kings, and America’s First Imperial Adventure, (Grove/Atlantic, 2012) were New York Times bestsellers. A former foreign correspondent for Business Week and The Wall Street Journal, her work has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, and many other publications. She has appeared as a commentator on the BBC, CBS, NPR, and elsewhere. She lives in Northern California with her husband and sons.
