Matthew Chapman

Matthew Chapman is a screenwriter, author, film director, journalist and founder and president of a non–profit. He has been involved in the making of almost 20 films as a writer/director, producer, or screenwriter. As a journalist, he has written for Harpers Magazine, Huffington Post, Time Out, National Geographic, and others. He is the author of two works of non-fiction: Trials of The Monkey: An Accidental Memoir (Picador USA, 2001) and 40 Days and 40 Nights: Darwin, Intelligent Design, God, OxyContin, and Other Oddities on Trial in Pennsylvania (HarperCollins, 2007). A great–great–grandson of Charles Darwin, he is currently writing a historical novel centering on Henrietta Darwin, the naturalist’s daughter. He lives in Nyack NY.
