Greg Denton and Gabrielle Quiñónez Denton have been cooking together since meeting in the kitchen at Terra, a restaurant in Napa Valley. Greg previously worked for Chef Thomas Keller at Bouchon. The couple moved to Portland in 2008, and opened Ox in April of 2012. Named one of 2012’s most anticipated restaurant openings in the nation and Portland’s Restaurant of the Year by eater.com, Ox was also recognized as one of the Top 50 Best New Restaurants by Bon Appétit magazine, and nominated Best New Restaurant at the 2013 James Beard Awards.Ox and the Denton’s have received the following recognition:
